I realized today that it has been 23 days since I last wrote a blog post. And yet, I couldn’t muster up my usual horror at such a realization.

Bacon vs. The World

Some of you might have seen/heard the hysteria-inducing news released today that bacon and other red meats “can cause cancer.”

I am always skeptical of these types of announcements, even more so since I started taking food classes and statistics. Research studies are so subjective, regardless of how well they are conducted (and if they aren’t conducted well, they’re even worse). I’m sure the good folks at the World Health Organization (WHO) are all much smarter and more educated than I am, but I can’t help thinking that this was kind of a bone-head move.
