One of the sites I adore is called Nerd Fitness.
If you don’t know why, I suggest you go back and read some of my older posts. I’ll wait.
They post a lot of workouts that are, obviously, nerdy. Usually, these workouts are pretty intense, and given my current life circumstances, they’re something to aspire to rather than jump into at this moment.
But recently they posted one called “Winter is Coming.” There’s a different Workout for each season of Game of Thrones, with moves based on the events of that season. Not only are they totally doable, but all of them are easily modifiable for skill/energy level (ie in the season two workout, you do “Robb Stark Pushes Ahead,” which is basically just push-ups. But they give you a lot of options for what type of push-ups, ranging in skill level and difficulty).
The question is, will this workout make me this ripped? The answer is probably not.
Plus, all the workouts can be done anywhere – indoors or outdoors, which is a huge bonus for this of us who work retail and are at work pretty much every moment the sun is out (oh sunshine…how I miss you).
Anywho, here’s the link. I’m planning on doing the season one warmup and the seasons four/five workout tonight.
Which one are you going to try?

Hey everybody! I know, it’s been a while again. I’ve had a lot going on since Easter – starting a new job, digestive issues, lots of doctor’s appointments (many of my yearly check-ups are scheduled for this time of year – some were to do with the aforementioned digestive issues, though), working a ton, and oddly, selling a lot on my Etsy site (which has kept my fingers flying). There will be some posts on some of these things coming up with more details, but for now..
…here we are, together once more. Continue reading

As you may have guessed if you know that I’m a former English teacher, I love reading.
I read the way other people drink alcohol. I read to celebrate. I read when I’m sad. I read when I’m angry. I read when I’m incredibly upset and want to hide from the world and forget my troubles (I call these days “binge reading” and often finish one or two books in the course of one of them, because I literally don’t do anything else except eat and go to the bathroom). I read with friends…we swap books, talk about books, and when we’re on vacation we even sit in the hotel room together and read our individual books. Sometimes we meet up to sit in coffee shops and read our books.
I’m lucky to have friends as crazy as I am 🙂 Continue reading
What I woke up to this morning. She partied hard last night, my friends, and raided both the yarn basket and the garbage. Whew. What a time. Continue reading

One final down, one more to go.
At this point my brain is in the usual finals mush stage. So I thought I’d catch you up on what’s been going on since Thanksgiving with a photo diary post instead!
